It's Not Just Google

We no longer search online; we "Google it". This shows the dominance of Google, but there are alternatives.

Recent figures suggest that in the UK the search market share approximates to:

  • Google: 90%;
  • Bing: 6%;
  • Yahoo: 3%, and;
  • Others: 1%

So why bother with that other 10%? Would you like another 10% in visits? Another 10% in enquiries? Another 10% in sales?

Spend 1 minute going through the following checks. If you are not ranking consistently, then your competitors have an advantage.

Go to each of the following sites in turn and search for the words and phrases for which you want to be found. Take a note of where your website appears.

If you rank highly and consistently across all three, then congratulations. Although this is how it ought to be, so many websites fail these basic checks that your competitors are giving you a head start. However, if you would like an even bigger advantage, get in touch and I can tell you how we could help you.

But what if you have a problem? If you don't care about your website marketing, then it's not really an issue. However, you wouldn't have read this far, would you?

Usually I would suggest that you first contact whoever looks after your website. However, you may now realise that website design and website marketing are two different skill sets. That is why web designers pass clients to us. Get in touch and I can tell you how we could help you.
