The 5 Keys to Successful Online Marketing

Online marketing is not rocket science. However, you must follow certain principles. Shortcuts seldom work.

Spend 1 minute going through the 5 keys to successful online marketing. This is based upon the presumption that you want more enquiries, more customers, and more sales. Brand awareness is a nonsense for most businesses.

The 5 keys are:

  1. Targeting;
  2. Measurement;
  3. Conversion;
  4. Scalability, and;
  5. Reproducibility

If you include all of these, and do them properly, then you will be successful.

Targeting is important. If you chase after, or attract the attention of people who are not in the market for what you do, then that is wasted effort. It might be wasted money as well. Money that could be spent attracting the right people.

Although measurement is not strictly necessary, without it you don't known what is working. Even if it appears OK, you could do better.

Conversion is the elephant in the room. People speak about hits, visitors, likes, shares, impressions, etc. Your bottom line requires sales. Your online marketing must ultimately result in business.

When you find a method that works, then you want to do more of it. You want scalability. Otherwise you will always be running just to stand still.

When you find a method that works, you want to be able to roll it out to other markets, sectors and geographic areas. You want it to be reproducible. Otherwise you have to keep reinventing the wheel.

If you currently follow these 5 keys, then congratulations. But you probably fail on more than one. If you don't care about your website marketing, then it's not really an issue. However, you wouldn't have read this far, would you?

You should now realise that website design and online marketing are two different skill sets. That is why web designers pass clients to us. Get in touch and I can tell you how we could help you.
